Our History
Buildings Etcetera was established on April 25, 1989, by Peter and Kathy Chase.  With $10,000 to invest, they worked on a shoestring budget operating from their home in New Limerick, Maine.  Since then, well over 2000 projects have been competed with some contracts exceeding $4,000,000.00.  Approximately 100 million dollars of sales have been contracted since its inception.

Many of their projects are outside of the area, but are completed with local employees and subcontractors to continue to infuse dollars into Aroostook County.
As the name “Etcetera” implies, the company’s services are not limited to buildings.  Projects have ranged from intricate concrete foundations, fabrications of belt conveyors, installation of biomass boilers, construction of pump stations, sewer treatment plants, pre-engineered STAR buildings to contemporary homes and beautiful banks.

Their employees show the true Aroostook County ingenuity.  With the standard team count of 20, they are able to fulfill most construction needs. They perform concrete foundations, certified structural welding, steel erection, weather protection, drywall, cabinetry construction, specialties as well as CADD drawing, design, and all aspects of project management.

For any of the areas they do not perform personally, they have developed a complementary team of exceptional subcontractors and suppliers.  Buildings Etcetera takes pride in providing the highest quality products in a very timely manner in a safe and clean environment.

 
Our Office Staff
  1. Peter Chase
    Peter Chase
    the president of Buildings Etcetera, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Engineering. Using the valuable experience he received from his work as an engineer for Cianbro Corporation and Operations Manager at Louisiana Pacific Corp., he created Buildings Etcetera in the spring of 1989. At the helm for 28 years, he oversees all projects from the initial bid stage through completion including layout, design, structural systems, process equipment, budget, change orders, invoicing, and customer relations.
  2. Kendra Lynds
    Kendra Lynds
    our office administrator uses her 17 years of experience to keep our day-to-day operations running smoothly and our paperwork current. She efficiently juggles many administrative duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, insurance, inventory, and bid preparation.
  3. Zack Chase
    Zack Chase
    second vice-president with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, is our main administrative support to our on-site staff. Zack is responsible for take-off, estimating, cost analysis and control, material procurement, scheduling, shop drawings, job costing, and subcontractor coordination.
  4. Jesse Chase
    Jesse Chase
    the newest addition to Buildings Etcetera has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. His 6 years at Cianbro Corporation, where he served as Senior Project Engineer, make him an invaluable member of the team. He works closely with Peter, Zack, and the superintendents to ensure effective coordination of all bids and current projects. His project management skills are indispensable.
Wesley Grant, Wade Estabrook, Glen Rowe, and Shane Howe who have each been in the construction industry for at least 20 years, are our four trusted superintendents.  All are well-versed in layout, earthwork, forming and placing concrete, structural steel, carpentry, and drywall as well as subcontract coordination, on-site safety and quality control.
